Welcome and Hi! I'm glad that you could stop by for a visit to my personal blog on the web. First and foremost, let me explain why I had entitled the blog as "The Barefoot Kontessa". Well, the idea about it originated from a TV cooking show of the same title, which I love to watch. I was so glad to find a customized theme that would match with the title that I already had in mind.
Please, do not think that I'm a bad speller. I intentionally spelled the word "contessa" with the first letter being "k" so it would sound like a Filipino word. At the same time, to give a certain flair to the title itself.
Anyway, meeting of the minds...yes, that's it! I love to express my points of view, be i t in fashion or politics or showbiz topics or about everyday lives or just anything under the sun. So I realized, why not create a blog where I could express them freely? Perhaps, this blog would become my virtual hideaway.
Please stop by often and join in the conversation. You might have a few good thoughts, ideas or even recipes of your own that you would like to share. THANK YOU!!! MARAMING SALAMAT PO!!! MANILA, PHILIPPINES CALIFORNIA, USA

I am neither a Heath Ledger nor Christian Bale fan but after watching "The Dark Knight" there's no doubt that this is the BEST Batman movie ever. The movie plot was great, actors were impeccable, particularly Heath as Joker and the effects... more | Video | Sep 15, 2008 |
This is one of the reasons why my husband and I love to watch Saturday Night Live...Tina Fey (as Sarah Palin) and Amy Poehler (as Hillary Clinton) were so hilarious! Enjoy the video!!! | My Favorite Recipes | Apr 10, 2008 |
Corned beef is a cut of beef (usually brisket, but sometimes round or silverside) cured or pickled in a seasoned brine. The " corn" in " corned beef" refers to the " corn" or grains of coarse salts used to cure it. The Oxford English Dictionary dates the usage of " corn," meaning " small hard particle, a grain, as of sand or salt," to 888, and the term " corned beef" to 1621. The term " corned beef" can denote different styles of brine-cured beef, depending on the region. Traditional corned beef is highly seasoned and often considered delicatessen fare ("Corned beef," Wikipedia: The Free Encyclopedia). | | | Links | |
